4th Grade Classroom
Welcome to 4th Grade! 🌟Fourth grade will be a year focused on growing independence and autonomy.

Dear Incoming Fourth Grade Nativity Stars,
My name is Sarah Ratter, and I have the pleasure of being your child’s fourth grade teacher this year. I have a strong background in Catholic education, including earning my credential and Master’s degree from University of San Francisco. During graduate school, I worked with students in grades five through eight at Saint Stephen School in San Francisco. This was an enriching experience that deepened my passion for working in a classroom. After almost ten years in Northern California, I returned to sunny Southern California and now call San Diego home. This will be my second year at Nativity, and I am excited to continue growing within our community and begin work with the Class of 2031.
Fourth grade will be a year focused on growing independence and autonomy. We will kick off the year with our Saint’s Project, followed by the Mission project in January. Together, we will develop the skills your child needs to problem-solve, think empathetically, and work collaboratively as part of our classroom family. We will cultivate these skills through classroom jobs, small group activities, and many projects, guided by the teachings of Jesus.
This year, in an effort to reduce costs and stream line supply hauls for families, I will be providing most of your child’s school supplies. Included on the back is a short list of items to bring on the first day of school, the most important being a chapter book to keep at school.
Very Sincerely,
Miss Sarah Ratter
