Back to School at The Nativity School

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to a wonderful year of learning, discovery, and growth at The Nativity School! My name is Mrs. Sabol, and I am so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year. Kindergarten is such a special time filled with curiosity, creativity, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. I look forward to partnering with your family to help your child grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually throughout the year.

Kindergarten provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning by focusing on the development of early academic, social, and emotional skills. Students build essential literacy skills such as letter recognition, phonics, beginning reading, and early writing. In mathematics, students develop number sense, counting skills, basic addition and subtraction, patterns, and shape recognition. Science and social studies lessons encourage exploration, community awareness, creativity, and problem-solving as students discover the world around them.

Equally important is the development of social and emotional skills within our classroom community. Students learn cooperation, responsibility, independence, kindness, and respect while building friendships and confidence throughout the school year.

As a faith-based program, learning is rooted in Christian values and traditions. Students participate in daily prayer, Bible stories, and faith-centered activities that emphasize love, compassion, gratitude, and service to others. This integration of academics and faith nurtures the whole child—mind, heart, and spirit—within a supportive and values-driven environment.

One of the most exciting parts of Kindergarten at The Nativity School is the many unique experiences students enjoy throughout the year! Some of the special activities and adventures students can look forward to include:

  • Riding camels as we celebrate the Epiphany
  • Visiting the Safari Park to explore animals and habitats
  • Hatching and raising baby chicks right in our classroom
  • Following the exciting journey of the Iditarod dog sled race while learning about Alaska, teamwork, perseverance, and geography
  • Working alongside our 8th grade buddies
  • Participating in hands-on projects, performances, and seasonal celebrations

These memorable experiences help bring learning to life and make Kindergarten a joyful and meaningful year for our students.

I am honored to be part of your child’s educational journey and cannot wait to get to know each of you. Thank you for entrusting me with your child. Together, we will make this school year filled with faith, learning, laughter, and wonderful memories.

Warmly,
Mrs. Sabol
