Mrs. Towner joined The Nativity School in 2020, bringing more than 40 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Prior to joining Nativity, she served as the founding principal of Horizon Prep, where she spent 20 years developing and growing a preschool through sixth grade program with a particular emphasis on early education. Her extensive career includes teaching experience from preschool through first grade in a variety of educational settings, including Montessori, public, private and Catholic schools.
Upon arriving at Nativity, Mrs. Towner’s primary goal was to develop and implement a Transitional Kindergarten program while strengthening and expanding the school’s Preschool program. Today, she serves as Preschool Director, Director of Early Education, Admissions Director, and Student Support Coordinator. In these roles, she works closely with students, families, and faculty to ensure a positive and supportive educational experience from admissions through the primary grades.
Mrs. Towner holds degrees in Child Development from Point Loma Nazarene University and Montessori Education from The Montessori Institute. Her background in Montessori philosophy and child-centered learning reflects her belief that children thrive when they are encouraged to explore, grow independently, and develop confidence in a nurturing environment.
Passionate about supporting the whole child, Mrs. Towner is dedicated to fostering each student’s academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth while building strong partnerships with families. She remains committed to creating a welcoming, faith-filled community where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
